I was wondering what happened with the discussion about the potential impacts of Canadian Immigration on US GC process. I had read before that UCSIC might consider it as an abandonment of the 485 application.
I had applied for canadian immig as a back up and got a medical request form from Canadian Consul. I am planning to go ahead with it. Was hoping to find out if people have been landing in Canada in this post 485 filing world??

Hi. I am still unmarried. But i applied for my I-485 when it was current last month . My priority date iss Nov2004 in EB2. Currently it is April2004. I might not be able to get married till May2008. Would i be getting GC by then or is there chances of getting delayed. Please let me know

For people familiar with how databases work:
You have to realize that each page load means a query has to run to a table of 14,000 records (for 14,000 threads) in MySQL database on our limited capacity server and since you have to sort the rows on basis of most recent updates, you have to get all 14,000 rows of result set and then let database sort them in descending order.
The reason for messed up sort order is that the "recent forums posts" has been pointed to a separete table that has recent threads and that seperate table is populated every 1 or 2 minutes from entire table of threads. That's sometimes you update a thread and it takes a while for it to become most recent thread.
For some reason, and we dont know yet, our site has been over loaded. This used to happen during July bulletin and we did the same work around by pointing "recent forum posts" to a smaller table populated thru a stored procedure running every few minutes. Also, during the July bulletin, we upgraded the server processing capacity and doubled the memory. It may be time to upgrade again, or maybe its time for some tune-up with regards to creating an index on the table for threads.

I just received a confirmation email that I485 of my wife got approved just a couple of days back. But I myself have not received anything. Its kind of weird because she was my dependent and I was the primary applicant.
Can somebody please suggest if they have seen something like this before ?Do I need to do anything ?

AFAIK States that do not have state income tax do not let H4 visa holders pay instate and make Green Card as a requirement for instate qualification.
WA state is a good example of the above situation. I don't know about TX,FL,SD,NV,AK,WY which also do not have state income taxes. You might want to look at the instate qualification website for the state you are interested in.

It is not wierd, i have heard about such cases where dependent gets approval prior to primary. You may want to take an Infopass and visit the local office and inquire with them regarding your case. I think you should see your approval pretty soon.

This is really now a high time we need to do something, Green card is delayed, we have been patiently waiting, now EAD renewal is also delayed, I applied for AP renewal it is more than 2 and half month and it is delayed.
Why are legal and regular tax payer like us troubled so much ? , they want money take it, but provide efficient service ?

I think you are slightly off again. This clause pertains only to labor certification and has no relation to quotas as I understand. Remember that there is no such thing as an LC quota. So you still wait in line... Only gain is that the bar for labor is slightly lower because the employer has to show that they hired the best guy for the job as opposed to showing that no minimally qualified American citizen was available. ;)

If they like you enough, they will consider it. How long to leave it active is another question. Lets say you were able to port the PD to your new I140. If the old employer then revokes the I140, are you still ok with the old PD?
